Dough I spoke to my dealer yesterday to order a bucket level indicator, for a 420 loader, I ask him if it was different from the 70 loader he told me the 420, 430 and 440 loaders took the same indicator, you may want to check with your dealer and see witch one he ordered, if you need I can get the part number, just email back, hope this helps.

Mel, I posted the message about the toe in, what I done to check it was to take a ruler or tape and measure the distance from the middle of each tire, rear then front, then subtract the two numbers, that will tell you if your are toe in or out,( mine was about 1 3/16). These two numbers should be pretty close, if not then lossen the two lock nuts on the tie rod ends, turn each tie rod in or out to make the front and rear the same, screwing in, will toe the the front out and screwing out will toe the front in, screw each one the same amount. Make sure you measure each time you make a turn, not knowing how well your know about tie rod ends there one on each wheel and connected to the steering rack, there is a grease fitting on top of it as well, hope this helps. (Try to keep the toe the same! front and rear.)

I know everyone is talking about the scuffing problem, today I check the toe in on my tractor, a 4400 JD, there was one inch difference between the rear and front. It was toe in, so I toe it out the same, front and rear, and then drove it in the yard, it seen not to scuff the lawn near as bad as it did in the same turn, I ran beside a spot were it had scuff the lawn before and didnt make a place. You guys may want check your toe in, it may be like mine.

Tracey I also talked to my dealer and told him of my problem and how one of the relays seem very hot and that I changed it with one that was cooler, he offered to repaced that one but I told him that I would use it in the next couple of days and let him know if it cut off again. The relay I changed was the safty cut off relay, I suspected this is the problem, being an auto tech for 25 years and dealing with such problems like this. Ill keep you posted on what happen, and thanks for your input.

I ordered a 4200 hdy, 60in deck and 420 loader, I waited about 2 months, got my tractor with out loader, they were having a hard time getting them a the time, so I used it to cut my lawn for the first time, Ive got a small hill in my yard, in B range at 2700rpms coming up hill it boggs down. I was not very inpressed with the power as I traded a 445JD in that would cut the same hill as fast as it would go, and that faster that the 4200, so I called my dealer and told him that I did not like this tractor, Willison Equipment in Spartanburg S.C., he asked what I wanted him to do, I told him that I loved the tractor but not the power, I now have a 4400 hdy, 72in deck and 420 loader the power is great.

I think I will pull off cover to see if it goes in the slot, or if the rod is bent, it seems to be bent down so I cant pull it all the way up. Let me Know how yours does. Thanks

I to puchase a 4200 Hydro tractor 60 in deck, up a steep hill it had no power that was in B gear. I personally was very dissapointed seeing how I traded a JD 445 that would cut the same hill no problem, the ground speed was even faster.I think the tractor is under powered! I called my dealer and told him the problem and he ask if I wanted to bring it back,I told him I liked the tractor but not the power, he said I could up grade, and I did to a 4400, now I have to wait all over again.<br>
